Help Voicemail notification not showing

YY1334

Newbie
My phone fails to display when I have a voicemail. I disabled visual voice mail because it was extremely annoying, but it seems to have taken away all notifications. Any ideas how to put it back as I can't find it under apps at all?

I'm experiencing the same issue, and no, there are no obvious toggles under the Settings menu, including Advanced Calling.

Trouble is, I have no idea whether this problem began happening after my OS upgrade to Advanced Calling, or if it was pre-existing. I'm not a big voicemail user, and much of mine goes to Google Voice or my work phone.

Waiting on Lollipop before I begin re-enabling my various Verizon apps, in search of a solution.

Hahaha, I just realized my phone was doing this today so I called verizon tech support. They couldn't help so I came here. I'll be following this and if I figure it out I'll post a solution.

After digging into this I was able to figure out that I at some point turned notifications off in the stock voice mail app. Just go into your app drawer and long press the voice mail app to bring up app info, make sure the show notifications box is checked. I kind of remember turning this off but can't remember why. I don't know if it matters but I also haven't updated my phone to advanced calling yet.

Well, this is interesting. I logged on today because my daughter is having the same problem on her Samsung and I am having the exact opposite on my Turbo! In my case, my notification will NOT go away. Even after I went into the app, clicked off the notification button and restarted my phone! Any clues anyone? (Verizon carrier).

Okay, fixed my Turbo. I called and left myself a message and then deleted it and notification went away. Pain in the ass, but at least it's fixed. Now onto the other. Must wait for daughter to wake up (snow day..... again..... *sigh*).

I'm having this problem too. Notifications are all on. I missed several important voicemails because of this. I've tried everything I can think of. I called and left myself a voicemail and even the voicemail app said no messages. But when I called voicemail, there was my message.

I had that issue at least 6 mos. ago. I had 20 voicemails over a month that I was unaware of. I called Verizon and they fixed it on their end. No problems since.

From your phone dial *73. You'll hear a beep or two and the call will disconnect itself. Then test it out.
