Root Voicemail Texts on MIUI ICS ROM

I recently flashed MIUI ICS ROM and for my voicemail I keep getting text messages. Do I need to install the VVM app for it to stop giving me those or what? Thanks!
 
What version did you flash? MIUI android or MIUI.us?


Did you get a voicemail message or is this a "ghost voicemail"?

No idea, whatever the one that is listed in the ROM and Kernels thread. An example of the messages I received:

//ANDROID: (a phone number that calls me) has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call (number provided) to listen. MMSN, (gibberish)//CM

//ANDROID: MWI Notif turnOn mdn: (my number) CGF....(gibberish)

Those are what I receive even while calling my voicemail or talking to someone on the phone.
 
So it sounds like you flashed the MIUIandroid version. MIUI.us just came out a few days ago.

Have to tried calling yourself and making sure you dont have an outstanding voicemail? If you don't have any new ones, it sounds like a ghost voicemail to me. Its basically a voicemail left int he sprint system from your old "dumb phone" before you upgraded to a smartphone. A lot of AOSP ROMS have this issue but you simply block texts form 9018 or whatever the number is.

I only got the texts when I got a voicemail (hardly ever), so I never really looked into a solution

It was was from new mail. I wasn't used to getting any (same as you) until I called myself, lol. What's the difference between the two? I like the ICS one so far. I flashed the wrong kernel earlier (tiamat 3.7.7 GB) and I couldn't touch my screen to do anything. Missed a phone call and text. I realized that I was using ICS and not GB so I flashed the rom over-top w/o wiping anything but cache and dalvik-cache and all is well.
 
They are both ICS.
MIUI android (swypers version) is non-HWA and overall more stable

MIUI.us is HWA and because of that has a few more things broken, but you are able to get more of the ICS experience such as google chrome or having more games work properly. My main issue with this ROM is dta2SD doesnt currently work but hes working on it.
