Voicemail with password

Hey there. I'm a Gnex transplant and loving the Maxx so far, especially the battery life!

I'm having trouble with being able to store the voicemail # with my passcode so I don't have to enter the passcode when I go to retrieve my voicemails. I have saved it in the contacts and checked it as default, but it still uses the one that came from the phone.

I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing. Any advice?

I'm not sure. Many of us use Google Voice for voicemail so retrieving voicemail hasn't been been a thought in a long time. Have you tried that option?

If you go onto the dialer app, click on settings, the voice mail, you can change it there. Then when you click on notification it will auto dial with your password. I'm sure this will change when we get the new dialer with kitkat.

Mdv, I think this is what I was looking for. I haven't got a voicemail since I added my passcode. I'm not sure it will work without a comma before the passcode and it won't let me insert a comma. Thanks!

Cincy, I haven't tried or seen google voice on my phone. Can you elaborate or point me in the right direction on how to set it up? Thanks!

If you hit pause it adds the comma.

This looks like a pretty good resource to get started: The Ultimate Google Voice + Verizon Guide

Basically, Google Voice gives you a free phone number. You can use GV on the web to link your various phone numbers - home and cell phone, for example - to your GV account and number. After you do that, any phone calls to the GV number will ring all of those numbers simultaneously, and the first to pick up answers the call. There are a number of other things that you can do with a GV number that you can find out from Google.

However, with a Verizon Wireless number, you can add that number to GV, then install the GV app from the Play Store to your phone. When you first run it, it will prompt you to set it up, and one of the prompts walks you through setting up the GV account to be your voicemail service for the phone number.

It works very well and is much better than paying Verizon for Visual Voice Mail, that's for sure.

Please help me set up my voice mail with automatic password.
I can't find either "," or pause key
thank so much

After you get to the "edit voicemail" number screen, long press the *# button on the lower left and it will open another set of punctuation. That's where you will be able to add a comma or pause
