i recently switched from an iphone to the galaxy s3 and have a silly question - i know in att messages app it "takes over" the messages and call logs, etc. but when i receive a call not only does att messages app leave a notification in notification screen, so does the original/main "phone". so i end up with two notifications for missed calls and voicemails. how do i turn off the notifications for the "phone" and keep the notifications from "att messages"?

can you turn them off in the att app? ive never seen a way to turn those 2 notifications off on the phone app

nope, tried that as well. the only reason i use "att messages" is for the visual voicemail. any suggestions for a diff app?

Uninstall as much of ATT messages as you can an instsall from google play store AT&T Visual Voicemail works much better. I hated ATT messages.

im on Rogers in Canada and same for me use the Rogers Visual Voicemail does what its suppose to without doubling my notifications

No. I get missed call and visual voicemail notification. So far it's the closest app to the IPHONE, its just not as integrated. Some say to use Google voice but I haven't tried that yet. This works for me so i am good for now.
