Help volume button didn't work but replace itself

Yesterday I had a weird glitch, I could not raise the volume up using the buttons, it was disabled. I then touched another button, the home button and the volume raised up to max. Sometimes just touching the screen made the volume go up...

The last thing I did before my phone was glitching up was playing with the tv remote so I'm not sure if it was overriding it or not.

It went back to normal after kept playing with the phone (maybe 20-30 minutes). Anyone know why it happened? It's a brand new phone too.

My phone is doing it again.. any solutions? The home button will raise the volume all the way up and the volume rocker won't do a thing except the decrease button...
