Volume button glitch

Ok so I don't know if this is a problem that Singapore desire 601 owners or Canada desire 601 owners are having or that even here in the US that anyone else is having this problem. But apparently sometimes when I play music when I turn off the screen and then try to adjust the volume it doesn't sometimes adjust. I have tried getting a replacement phone and it didn't work so I believe it is a problem with the Kitkat update because this never happened to me when I was on jelly bean. So if anyone has also had this problem as well and knows a fix that would be very helpful.

This is a wide spread problem, I think an update from HTC will have to address this.
