Help Volume button not working (how to do screenshot)

Hello, my volume button is stuck - when I press vol. down, the volume indicator shows, but volume does not go down (sometimes it goes up)...when I press vol. up, volume indicator goes fast to maximum and sometimes just "wants"to go even higher (indicator does not disappear). I can go around that problem with manualy (touch screen) setting volume indicator, but I can not make screenshots (power button + volume down). Any idea what could be wrong with volume button and hot to make screenshots? I have tried celaning contacts, but doesn't help...

Hmm, strange that it shows that it knows you are doing something with the volume but it's not moving. What phone is it? What version are you running? When did it start? After dropping the phone or something? Are you rooted? If you have root there are mods and ROMs that have screenshot in the power menu. If not I think there may be apps on the play store that screen shot?

"it's not moving" actually means that the litle circle on volume indicator moves quickly left-right on the place (like it would vibrate on the spot). It's chinese phone with Kitkat android. It started when I got the phone back from Chine, where it was for the repair (of something else). I don't want to send it back again. I tried several apps for screenshot, but didn't work.

For screenshot press at once the main button and the power button, you gonna see like a flash,if it doesn't work try many times

Depends on the make / model of the phone, for example mine is vol- & power too (Xperia Z1).
I'm stuck then, it's hard to say if it's software or hardware based (would like to say it's not hardware as it's just come back from repair, but you never know, I've had to send phones back multiple times for things being wrong). Have you tried a factory reset or update (if there is one for your phone)? If that doesn't make a difference I would assume it is hardware malfunction. I don't suppose the problem was sent back for was touch screen related was it? Just thinking if it thinks the screen is getting touched where the volume bar is possibly.

Why are the apps not working? Are they for early Android versions?
I remember on a very old phone without native screenshot support I used an app that set a timer for a screenshot but can't remember the name and it maybe doesn't exist now that screenshots are part of Android
