Volume Controls - Maxx

Sorry if this is a repeat:

I understand how to control ring volumes and music/games volumes. But, I am frustrated with the notification volume.

How do I control notification volume without having to go into settings all of the time.

At work and some other locations, I want it as low as possible, otherwise I want it as loud as possible.

Also, while I am at it, why doesn't this thing vibrate better. From a sound and vibration ability, the Original Droid was the best.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

It sounds like this phone has the same "issue" as my current phone, the droid RAZR maxx. When I use the volume controls, it only changes the ringer volume, and not the volume for apps and notifications. I change that by opening an app that uses it, like YouTube. Using the volume rocker from there will change it.

But yes, an app that as controls on screen for each does sound more useful.

The volume rocker is aware of what might be making noise at any moment. When you are playing music over bluetooth, the volume controls change volume for BT. The same for headphones. When you are in a phone call, it changes the in call volumes. Otherwise, when no media is playing, it changes the ringer volume (and the notification volume is not tied to the ringer volume, which is weird for Android 4.x)

... and if you used Volume Control + Pro you would see those changes in the bar graph.

As I noted ... I found the multiple volume controls nearly insane.

I use Smart Volume Control + which is a little higher in price at $2.99, but it allows for profiles and I feel it better controls volumes. Check out the lite version if you want to get an understanding of it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.directservices.SmartVolumeControl&hl=en
There are a lot of volume control apps out there, some really good, some mediocre and some passable.

I have to agree with Bryan's choice though. I've been using smart volume control + for months now and I'll say it's well worth it.
