Help Volume cuts out when using headphone socket

Since upgrading my French bought NT 7000 to ICS 4.0.4, When playing music I have the annoying situation whereby the sound cuts off completely after about 20 minutes when the headphone socket is being used. To fix it I have to remove the plug and re-insert it. This doesn't happen with bluetooth (although I can't get calls on my Sony Ericsson MW 600 but that's another story). This is also true wheter using headphones or a cassette for car use and also when using the FM radio.

I have done a factory reset which cured other bluetooth connection problems for a mouse and keyboard but not the volume.

I have searched the forum but haven't found any posts with this problem, can anyone help ? All comments most welcome.

My Note does that automatically since my last update. I think Samsung have done that purposely so that they cannot be sued for damaging your hearing. You should be able to raise the sound level. When it does there will be a message warning you of the dangers of high volume on your hearing.

thanks for your reply, it doesn't seems to be lowering of the volume so much as a complete lack of sound, which raising the volume doesn't fix, I have to unplug.

Does anyone else have this problem ?
