Help Volume down + Power = Normal startup

Issue: Hi everyone
I've been searching for about 2 hours now on why and how i can fix it so i can enter bios menu or Hboot or what ever its called. The menu that should pop up when you hold vol down and power on.

Shut the phone down. Then boot it while pressing the volume down key. Don't release the key until the white hboot screen appears.

Unless the volume down key is broken that should do it.
