Help Volume During Call is Loud enough to be on speaker

Ok so here's my problem, when I take a phone call or make one the volume on the call is pretty loud. Loud enough that if someone else is close by or I

Hello Gordo.

So, from the phone's dialer screen, hitting the menu then settings and unchecking "extra volume" didn't help?

Is the device in "driving mode" (basically louder as in speaker mode)?

One remedy reported is during a call first press volume UP a few times, then hold the volume down key.

I do see this issue reported around many forums. Trying different ROMs (rooted devices) gets mixed results.

Yea "extra volume" isn't on and it's not in driving mode either. I tried the volume up and then down trick but no luck but I'll give it another try though just to be sure.
But I honestly don't really want to root my device though; I personally don't see a need for it yet. But maybe in the near future I will see a need for it though. I was just hoping for a fix for it with the rooting option you know

Give a battery pull a try. Leave the battery out for about 2-3 minutes and then back in. Start the phone and give it a try. Not sure it will work, but it has fixed some strange issues in the past.
