Volume Locker competing with Night Keeper

I am hoping to get a little help here or maybe a suggestion for a alternative.
I use Night Keeper to silence my phone while allowing contacts in the "white list" through during the scheduled time. I added Volume Locker to prevent the volume changes that were occurring when I pocketed my phone. Now the two compete when Night Keeper tries to change my phone to mute, it gets stuck in a cycle as Volume Locker is trying to do it's job.
I have Tasker as well, I thought maybe I could enable and disable the Volume locker based on a schedule but not sure how to do that.
Any help or suggests would be greatly appreciated.

I use an app called Persist+. It allows for custom audio profiles where you can lock each individual volume setting. It also has a scheduler (which I don't use) but I think it should be able to do everything you want. They also have a free version so you can test it out first.

Edit: I just looked through the settings of Persist+ and I don't see a whitelist function. So, it may not work for you. I guess you could check out LightFlow though. It does have the ability to setup custom settings for individual contacts.
