Help Volume lowered and pausing music when plugged in to headphone jack

Awesome, rooted yesterday and something I froze solved the problem. I do still get the warning, but the volume doesn't lower and it doesn't pause anymore.

I had the same problem.

I was trying to play a song to my car radio using the headphone out and when the song would get very loud it would get bumped down (although I never get a msg but I am rooted).

Could you put together a list of what you froze? I could then compare it to what I have froze and see if I can figure out what the difference is (I still get my volume knocked down a bit occasionally). Thanks either way.
 
Sorry for the false hope guys, turns out I lied. I was just playing it again and it's doing it again, this sucks.
 
Does it do that with a 3rd party player? I only listen to podcasts using the player built into beyondpod and I have never seen this message.

I've used a bunch of different things, no matter what, if there is something plugged into the headphone port, it happens.
 
Ok, now this is REALLY starting to bug me. I just bought PowerAmp since it's on sale for $1.99 for the weekend or something. If I change the equalizer settings pretty much AT ALL, I can't even get my volume to go up 3/4 of the way anymore without it pausing on me. So basically I'm stuck with my equalizer all on 0. This is just ridiculous. So sick of this crap

Edit: and yes I know, if I plug it into something, I can obviously turn the volume up on the speakers instead of on the phone, but I have my reasons why I can't do this, so it's driving me crazy that I can't get the volume all the way up on the phone, especially now that I have a nice player that I can customize and I can't even do that.

Edit: I don't know why I haven't tried it before... Well, I guess I do know why, because I knew this was going to be the outcome. I spoke to a livechat rep from Samsung, told them the situation, and just like usual they figure the way to fix it is to reset the phone, soft, then hard. Even though I tell them nearly everybody has this problem, even though I tell them it's been happening since the very beginning, that's pretty much the only thing they can help you with because all their information comes off a computer screen response system. They never have any clue whatsoever. There's no way I'm performing a hard reset of my phone when I KNOW it's not going to solve my problem. Then they want me to send it in to get serviced, when it's clearly something that is built into the phone that is SUPPOSED to be happening, I just want to know how to stop it. So sick of this stupid problem.
 
I also have this freaking problem. I like to listen to my music as loudly as possible, and I don't want Samsung telling me I can only listen to it on "10" when I want it on "15". At any rate, I went to the market and downloaded two apps. I used to have a Vibrant and it did all sorts of f-d up things in the music player - randomly skip in the middle of a song, volume would go up, down, etc. I discovered the "Headset Blocker" app and it solved the problem with the Vibrant - no more crazy stuff with the music player and songs played as they should.
Then my phone got stolen and I bought the Exhibit ii 4g - nice little phone, but about a week after owning it the volume thing started happening. Pissed me off to no end. So, I installed the headset blocker and enabled it. It worked and my Exhibit ii 4g played music as it should at FIFTEEN on the volume rocket....then after a day or two, it's as though Samsung realized I was listening to loud music and the freaking volume governor kicked in again.
Next, I discovered an app called "Volume Locker". I installed and activated that and it that, possibly in combination with the headset blocker, has kind of decreased the occurrences of the volume police kicking in. It still happens, but not as much.
I also should note that at one point before installing these apps the governor kicked in when I was listening through headphones - prior to this it only kicked when I plugged into an external speaker like my car stereo or the under cabinet stereo in my kitchen.
I really wish one of these much smarter than me android guys could create an app to combat and eliminate this...it really sucks...good luck to all trying to listen to loud music...LONG LIVE ROCK!
 
There is an app called "Volume Control +" that took care of this problem for me. After downloading this app open it and set your media volume all the way up, you can even set all other volumes with this app also, very nice. But anyway after setting the media volume all the way up I just used the default music player to play my music and it works great, no pausing or volume decrease as long as I dont use the volume bar on the default music player and don't use my phone volume buttons on the phone to turn up or down the music. Instead use the "Volume Control +" app to turn down and up the music. But by default after setting this app it will stay at 15
 
Experiencing this problem while using Spotify mobile app. Tried 'volume control +', and although volume did not get reset, spotify app still pauses every few seconds, which is unacceptable. Downloaded some kind of EQ app, hoping I can trick the phone into being louder than it thinks it is.
 
To my surprise, using the software EQ did not work either. Phone seems to know how loud the output to the headphone jack is, even if the media volume remains on 10/15.

There must be a service that rooted users can remove with Titanium Backup in order to solve this issue....... anybody willing to "freeze around"?

So annoying I have to turn my car speakers up to 100% volume just to listen to music at an acceptable volume....

I talked to Samsung about this a couple months back and they said there is no way to fix it. SO unfortunately we have to live with it.
 
I have the same problem with my Samsung Exhibit, so I've ordered a FiiO E5 Portable Headphone Amplifier for $16. You can Google search Fiio Amp, and Amazon seems to have quite a few.
I'm tired of rotating the volume control dozens of times to get any sound level without the unit going into pause mode.

For a review of Mini Amp's "soundandvisionmag" has an article on this (no links on first post).

The unit also comes with a couple of line-in male to male leads, one about a few inches and the other a 1ft or so.

I already use an audio (Ground Loop) isolator to the aux-in of my HD radio in the car to eliminate interference and/or shorting while the Exhibit is charging.
 
This problem is getting ridiculous. I've tried every workaround, but I see no way to be able to listen to music with wired headphones with this phone. It's kind of hard to get a good workout in when your freaking music is constantly paused and the volume is lowered. Yesterday threw me over the edge as I'm trying to do some heavy weights and the freaking phone wouldn't play any music. I had NO volume. I would turn it up to an "allowed" level (11 i think), and the phone would regulate it and send the volume all the way to zero.
I've tried numerous volume governing apps and several of them have worked for awhile, but then it's as though Samsung realizes I'm listening to music at full blast and slaps me on the wrist with its freaking warning message and then lowers the volume on me...Something like this should be or is grounds for an exchange for a phone of equal value because this volume governing sounds like something that should have been disclosed by Samsung at the time of purchase. They knew it was in there, so they should have told potential customers.
 
My entire family had this problem, any solution yet, its driving me crazy, I work in an auto shop so it would be nice if I could actually hear my freaking music!
 
i think i fixed it via titanium freezing the following- ampTuning 1.0.0 , audiotestapp 1.0 ,audiotunning 1.0.0, codectuning by hss 1.0.0
i froze them all and it worked, time to play around and see which one(s) are fixing it.
