Help Volume not working properly

When I press the volume all the way up it doesn't seem loud enough. Then I noticed that when hitting volume down it doesn't change until it get to almost the bottom then a sudden drop.
Not sure what happened? Anyone know what I can do to fix it. Looked through the settings and couldn't find anything that didn't anything.

was this all of a sudden? was the phone updated recently? have you tried just rebooting the phone?

maybe try putting the phone in safe mode. this prevents any 3rd party apps from running. if it stops then it is from a recent app you installed
