Hi all, new to tasker and have been trying all day to get a volume slider on my tab A.  I've successfully gotten a slider on my desktop top but it doesn't work.  Thanks in advance.
Volume control is one of the more complex areas in Android. There are eight volume stream adjustments that can be made ...
A - alarm
B - BT voice
C - in-call
M - media
D - DTMF
N - notification
R - ringer
S - system
... and some of them are connected (DNRS).
What have you developed so far? You can long press on the task name and select settings / export / Description to Clipboard and then paste it into a post here. An example ...
Dev4 (316)

Tasker is an "almost a developer" application. If you were a developer you would think of it as a collection of extremely useful macros.
I was attracted to this problem about two years ago because Android volume controls are about the most complicated Android subject. Everyone thinks "volume control" No one approaches it thinking "8 volume controls".
If Tasker is too complicated for your liking ... many people use MacroDroid. It does most of the capabilities that Tasker does and is less "developer like".
The "Need Help" thread here shows how to add a JavaScript capability to Tasker because it doesn't have it already built in. he code is not mine. It is public domain and published in a number of places on the Internet.
People love Tasker because you are constantly able to learn new things about Android. People hate Tasker because there are all kings of new things you can find out about in Android.
The one that seduced me ... Motorola devices used to dim when the proximity sensor was covered. They no longer do. A simple Tasker Profile/Tsk solves that problem.
