Root Voodoo Temp Un-Root doesn't survive reboot

I am running 4.1.1 on my rooted DROID RAZR MAXX HD and want to take the 4.1.2 OTA update.

I use Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper Temp Un-Root which successfully makes my device unrooted. However, once I reboot, the phone is rooted again. I thought Voodoo would turn off root until I explicitly go back and Restore Root.

Am I wrong? Is Voodoo supposed to turn off root only until the phone restarts? If so, can I use Voodoo to temporarily un-root, and then immediately install the OTA 4.1.2 update without restarting my phone?

Or, is something wrong with my Voodoo installation since the temp un-root does not survive a restart?

I would think twice at this point about taking the update. The procedure and tools for rooting when on 4.1.1 no longer work with 4.1.2. One of the tools (don't remember which) is blocked by the update. If you lose root for some reason after you take the update, you may lose it until the volunteer Devs fix the tools (or develop a 4.1.2 exploit).

If I had known this, I would not have taken the update. I was not having any problems that the update would fix.

That being said, I had no trouble using VooDoo to temp un-root, install the update, and restore root. Not sure about the behavior of VooDoo you are describing (and unwilling to mess around with my phone at this point)
