VPN setting problems - Enter password for credential storage

Dear all,

I have just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 NEO and moved to China last week.
I need to use VPN on my phone, but when I am trying to set it, I am stopped by a strange request about "Password for credential storage".

I read many threads, but no one is talking about S3 NEO.

So, basically what I am doing is:

I go to Settings -> Connections -> scroll down to More networks -> click on VPN
At this point a message pops up:"Enter password for credential storage"

I do not know what to do.

Any suggestions?

Hi

You cant set up a vpn without setting a pattern or password for the device screen lock (it wont work without one of these set). I think thats probably what it is about.
