VPN through PDAnet or EasyTether

I used both applications in the free trial periods for surfing the web and other mundane stuff but never had a chance to try the VPN connectivity to my workplace.
With the recent disruptions with my home broadband provider, which remains to be unnamed, with a striped circular logo :) I am looking for an alternative method to connect to my workplace through VPN using either application. Our VPN client is cisco VPN if it makes any difference.
Did anyone use either of these applications for this purpose ? If so, were there any shortcomings ?
Thanks

^lol

Anyways if it's a cisco VPN they often (used to?) require special cisco software for connecting PCs. So I'm not sure if cisco makes an Android client -- might be worth poking around their website to see if there is any info/
