Help VZ GNex SIM in International phone?

Hi All,

GNex on VZ is not a world phone - at least I don't believe there to be any Verizon LTE roaming agreements on common spectrum that could be leveraged.

However, there is a 4G SIM in the device which should identify "me" and how to authenticate "me" (Verizon HSS). If this is the case, in theory, it should be possible for me to put my VZ SIM into a 3G international device and use it on UMTS networks.

So, question:
1) Would this work?
2) Has anyone tried it?

The SIM card in 4G Verizon phones only identifies it for use on Verizons American 4G network. It doesn't work the way a normal SIM does. It doesn't store specific phone data like AT&T's does.

Also, that SIM will only work in that specific phone, you can't even remove it and put into another Galaxy Nexus. Once it's activated for that specific handset, it will only work with that one phone.
