Root Waiting for device problem

I have a MetroPCS Huawei Ascend, I did a flash recovery using Rom Manager and it is the wrong recovery for the ascend. It is 5.0.2.8 and everything I have read and tested it is not the correct recovery to be able to mod to playfulgods013.zip I believe the 7.2 mod. I was trying to find a way to delete the CWM recovery that was made but can't find anything information on how to do it, except for flash it back to stock. I was wondering if I put manually put the flash recovery 3.0.0.5 on the phone, would I be able to choose between either one? The 5.0.3.8 or the 3.0.0.5? If so, I am having a problem with the manually recovery.

I load my phone into the bootloader
open the windows.bat for the flash
and it says waiting for device
I try unplug the cable and plug it back in and it does nothing

But when I have the phone on it I pull the notification bar down and connect to the pc and everything is fine. However, my pc will not connect with the phone in the boot loader screen. Can some one please help????? Step-by-Step if possible.. Thank you!!

When your in fastboot does it make a sound? And do you have the drivers installed for the ascend?
 

My computer makes the ding noise and pops up new hardware found. I tried to install the hardware and it says it was unable to install. As far as the drivers I looked all over for the ascend drivers and was unable to find a download for them. I no longer have the CD that came with the phone. Also I forgot to add to the original post that my phone is rooted.

But have you tried returning to stock?
 
I have not tried to reset my phone to stock, because everything I am reading tells me that I need a working recovery. I have the 5.0.3.8 recovery and that is not the right one for Huawei Ascend M860.

I have downloaded and installed to drivers from the link you gave me, but it still does not recognize that I plugged my phone in when it is in bootloader. It doesn't even pop up the Mobile PC Option when I plug the phone in when it is running normally. I am able to open the mobile PC Options and it says that the drivers are installed. Do I need that open to be able to flash from computer? Any ideas?

I haven't used my ascend since march.. but if I do recall I don't think its suppose to let you open it. Have you tried flashing a recovery from the computer?
 

Ok, I was able to flash back to stock 2.1, and connecting to the computer is working fine now. I was also able to flash recover into 3.0.0.5. However, know I have the problem of going into recovery and it flashes firmware update failed. Can someone help me please?
 
You have to hold the Power + Call + Volume Up button. And sorry for the late reply. Been busy today
 

I have finally installed CyanogenMod 7, from playful god. I can't wait to be able to check it out. I want to say thank you for all the help, I couldn't have done it without every ones help. Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!
 
Thank you for the help Mexjoker and damewolf13. I couldn't have done it without your help. The first time I tried it (a month ago) I almost bricked my phone. I was seriously stressing.. So far I have had it on my device for 1 day, and everything I have seen this mod is great!!
