The app "MultiPicture Live Wallpaper" from the Android Market is the way to go. It can do what you want,...and a lot more, and last I checked it's free.
It works great for live wallpaper (with changing pics), or single pic wallpaper. Download & Install the app, then press the screen, select 'Wallpapers', select 'Live wallpapers', select 'MultiPicture Live Wallpaper', and setup the configuration as you prefer. Once it's loaded and running you can easily reconfigure it at any time. It's great.
Concur. I have been struggling with the issues of setting wall paper the way i want. This application gave me plenty of options and I appreciate you all mentioning it. I suggest others give it a try to see what it can do. The options should be native in Android, but its nice that they can show up with a third party app.
Thanks !
