Wallpaper size?

Ok i re-read your post Mr Womble and yes you are confusing canvas size and image size.

I'm not - what i'm reading - if i am correct is that you have the central screen of 3/5/7 whichever launcher you are using as the screen size - 480 x 854

Now if i have an image, say Android Logo at 480 x 854 and increase the CANVAS to 960x854 then although i am left with the android logo still on my centre screen i get nothing on the spill-over so when i scroll left and right all i have is blank areas

Now if i use my way of having a complete image of 960x854 so that it fills the full background, you get a complete experience when scrolling through - check out post #84 on the below link to see what i mean
http://androidforums.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10/149788-show-us-your-x10-homescreen-2.html

to clarify what i mean i have attached a printscreen of photoshop

1st image 480x854
2nd image 960x854 (canvas size changed)
3rd image 960x854 with full screen image

You will have spill over still it just wont effect your first screen.
Download this image i just made.

Set it as a wall paper and stretch the box so it fits around the image fully.

Then view it. The first screen will have the words Mr Womble directly in the middle.
When you scroll left you will see some of the wording and when you scroll right you will also see some of the wording but that isnt what people were asking.
They couldnt get their images to display on the centre screen correctly. The rest of the image they couldnt see would display left and right but they wanted to see the whole image on the first screen. That was my interpretation anyways.

Maybe i am interpreting wrong as most i know want an image that scrolls with the background

easiest way to get the same background image with NO spillage (therefore no work) is to download ADW LAUNCHER DONUT and in MENU > ADW SETTINGS > SCREEN PREFERENCES > WALLPAPER SCROLLING - if you UNTICK that option then 1 image of 480x854 will be displayed correctly on all 7 screens that ADW can support

Many thanks for the logo though lol

With your second image of the android that is correct. I would then fill the background surrounding the android logo to match to get rid of the white. If it has displayed correctly the colour is #1F1F1F. It will show the android logo in the centre and a portion of it if you go left and right. With option 1 it will stretch that image hence not showing the whole image. Image 3 is fine also if you want to have a landscape style scrolling background. You dont see the whole entire image though unless you scroll.

Yeah it seems we are both right but discussing two different things.
As i said that was my interpretation. Dont know if i was right or not.

No worries about the logo.

Hi there, I have the same problem as u but then got it solved by calculating the screen size for 5 screens..just get your favourite picture and resize it to 480 x 864 then place it over a plain black colour (or any of your favourite colour) picture of size 1440 x 864. then place your picture (480 x 864) right in the middle of the plain colour picture (1440 x 864)..(u can use paint, thats what i used). save it and set it as wallpaper..voolaaa~ there u go..

Busha, I don't think you read JDWans post. When you select an image for a background wallpaper it will always give you the option to crop it further if you want. If you drag the "little box" at the corner you can scale the box to be the size of the wallpaper you have. If your wallpaper is the correct aspect ratio ( a multiple of 960*854) then you should be able to scale the box to fill the whole image. The wallpaper size is pretty square but not quite.

Check your phone settings.

When I take a pic at max, it is 3264x2448.

What pic app are you using? Have you changed the settings to use max pic quality and have you turned off compress the JPEG quality.

It is always better to mess with the picture on your computer before making it your wallpaper. I like to adjust some colour settings and I like to change it's size to exactly the same as the screen size, so the phone doesn't have to do the stretching.

So i dont knwo if the images that are on your phone when you get it aren't the right size or whatever. But howcome you can only make that box so big? it wonty go around the whole pic...

Because of the aspect.

Like watching a standard definition channel on an HD tv. They don't allow it.

Just edit the picture on your computer or download an image that has the right aspect ratio.
