Help Wallpaper

The wallpaper on my phone has been bugging me ever since I got it. Everytime I set a new wallpaper (from my photo gallery) It inflates the picture on the screen and you cant even see the entire photo. I've tried resizing the image and cropping and nothing is working. Does anyone know how to fix this???

Is it because it's adjusting the picture for a panoramic view? When I move from home page(4, you know 'center') left(say to p1) or right(to p7) the backround pick also moves to view what's off screen in that general direction.
