I was in my local store and was looking around the ereader section and right under the Sony gear in the bottom shelf was
Several 16g Nexus7's. I bought 2 more for family and was talking to the mgr and he said most of the area stores have them but not displayed.

Just thought I would let people know that if you are looking you may want to check Walmart.
 
hey i got mine at walmart too! there was a spot to display it but it wasnt on display :confused: confused as to why they would do this ??? btw i moved you over the the N7 section.

EDIT: BTW did they drop the prices to 199 or are they still 249 at walmart for the 16gb?
 
Got my 16 gb at walmart the 1st of September for $249 plus tax. They were hidden quite well at the time. Then I noticed they had a display spot with the other tablets later, then soon after they were hidden again... last time I looked, they had the 32gb model for 249 & still hidden...
 
Hmm, $249 for a 16GB is too much - even for a 32GB. I got my 32GB for $230 at HHGreg.

Thanks for moving the post I was using my N4 and had that stuck in my head.

As for prices the were they were the same as what are in the play store. They also had the 32g I bought one for the wife.
 
I bought mine at Walmart too, and they were not displayed, but that was in moorefield, wv near my cabin.

After my two latest run ins with walmart (.com) I am freaking done with those clowns.
 
I was going to get mine from walmart. I had checked walmart.com and they had them in stock in almost every walmart in my area. Literally the next day i checed and the listing for the 16 GB had been completely removed from their website. I ended up calling about 7 different walmarts to discover that they were all out of stock. Finally i learned that walmart was "out of stock, and had no plans to get any more". Apparently they do not plan on carrying the nexus 7 at all anymore. At least the 16 GB version. But they may have the same plans for the 32 once its sold out. I had to get it from staples.
 
As of Sunday my local Walmart had a 32gb on display but completely sold out. This is the same one I got mine from and when I did they had a ton in stock. It must be selling really well for Christmas presents.
 
Went to my local Walmart the other day and was looiking around at the tablet section and noticed they had the 16gb advertised for 199. I told my girlfriend that I wanted one for Christmas while we are there. So a few days later she goes and tells the lady behind the counter she wants to get a N7. The lady comes back and rings it up, but it rings up for 249. My gf says um thats not right the yellow barcode sticker right there on the box says 199. The lady tells her oh thats for the 16 not 32. Well my gf tells her she's not leaving until she gets it for what the sticker on the box says. Needless to say after two managers come and all gets hashed out they sold her the 32gb for what the sticker had on it 199. She said the manager found out that someone put all the 16 gb prices on the 32gb boxes as they had no 16 in stock at all. I opened my N7 the other day as she couldn't wait for me to open it or tell me this story. She feels like she got an awesome deal as do I, a 32gb for the price of a 16. She also said that while hashing things out they were already pulling all the N7's out and correcting the mistake.
 
I picked mine up from Walmart 16 gig and 2 year extended warranty with the glass protection for 230 out the door
 
I just bought my son a 32G Nexus 7 at walmart last night. It was $249 plus the $20 drop warranty. Every walmart in my area was out of the 16G models.
We got him a nabi 2 tablet for christmas and he hated it(he is use the the apple market), the nabi app store is awful and the tablet is full of issues. So we took it back and got him a nexus 7.
