Want a dock and still use your protective case?

Just to let everyone know. I have about 10 of these stands left. I'm not sure if I'm going to do another build of them or not. If you are on the fence order one soon.

Thank you to everyone that has purchased the stand. I have gotten great feedback. I'm glad one of my little "side projects" turned into something that others wanted to purchase.

Happy Holidays

Thanks for the info on this. I just bought one.

I've been looking around for a way to mount my Droid with the thick BodyGlove case. The case is so difficult to pry off, I'm afraid of breaking the phone just removing it for the Verizon dock. But I need the case as I carry the phone in my pocket, and I'm clumsy too.

You need better pictures of the back. It looks like you include a magnet on back for automatic Dock transition?

My only hesitation is that it looks too tall, dangerously so. I especially worry since you don't appear to have anything to keep the phone from falling forward, such as a something wrapping around in front, or a tight secure socket like on the Verizon stands. My dorky cats walk all over my night stand and knock things. I sure wish you'd instead made it shorter, more secure, and included a 90 degree micro USB couplings that can be bought in large quantities very cheap.

Overall, I like the design and quality of your build, with non-slip pads and a good paint job on solid steel. The design is simple and functional.

I have the Seidio Innocase, and although spendy at $29.95 (ouch), now that I have it I think it's worth every penny. It makes the phone easier to handle, adds virtually no weight, and at 1 mm thick, it doesn't add significantly to its bulk. I'm waiting for them to come out with their dock which their web site illustrates with a price of $24.95. It has an insert which when removed, will allow the dock to function wither with or without an Innocase attached. It looks even nicer than the Motorola dock.

why are people talking shizz on this thread? ... This guy is simply saying he mad a dock to help us out .... It's the same price as verizon's .. yes that's true but unlike Verizon's this dock works with your DROID with your case on ... If you have the Verizon Dock you have to take your DROID out of the case each time you plop it in.... If I wasn't getting a surprise for christmas I would order this right now

Great news!!!!! The latest build of A855 Stands has arrived. I will be shipping all the pre-orders tomorrow. Thank you to everyone that has placed orders.

Got mine. Works great. Been happily using it for a week.

The stand is much better quality and design than I expected. Very solid. Very stable. It has a heavy thick steel stand and good grip with the rubber feet. I can press front buttons on the Droid and there's no give.

Yes it has a dock magnet nicely built into the back. The Droid is held in securely by a combination of: the rear tilt, the plug going through the bottom hole, the force of the magnet holding the case, and side arms that fit just right around my thick BodyGlove case. No way the phone will fall out accidentally, even with my cat bumping it.

I still wish it was a bit lower with a right angle connector, but the height is good for getting visibility over the other clutter on the night stand.
