Root want to install custom rom

hey guys .. i have htc desire bravo hboot 1.02.0001 with s-on .... i want to install cutom rom but when i open recovery it gives error ... i have searched on google for this and i found that getting s-off and rooting will work but nothing worked... i tried to make s off but nothing worked ...i used revolutionary but the beta key when i insert gives invalid beta key .... is there any way to get into recovery and install custom roms ...... i also used unlock bootloader method from htcdev site but when i enter cmd fastboot oem get_identifier_token ... it gives bootloader error ... i need a solution ... if anyone can help me :).... and also i have updated from 2.2 froyo to 2.3.3 gingerbread ruu .... so what should i do.... do i need to downgrade to official 2.2 ? reply plz

While tryin revolutionary method...what did the BETA key start from??

It will most probably be an I(i) instead of an l(L)...try the method again and let me know how it goes.
 
I think the unlocked boatloader might be giving you problems. You might need to revert that to stock. Don't ask me how, I've no idea.
 
Try copying and pasting the Revolutionary beta key. Typing often doesn't work (I guess 1/I confusions or similar). Had the same when I tested it.

If you still have hboot 1.02 then Revolutionary is the way to go. If you do the software update that's part of the HTC unlock for this device your hboot will change and Revolutionary will no longer work (and conversely unless you do that the HTC version won't). Revolutionary gives you more options, so is preferred (ie Revolutionary gives you S-Off, HTC unlock does not and will stop you getting it, though you can still root after the HTC unlock).
