Wanted: Data killer that shows off

Hi. I just lost $33 overnight with my Droid. While I was asleep it was doing lord-knows-what but I can't afford to do this anymore.

Can anyone point me to an app that (a) stops mobile network data at once and (b) displays a warning -- or alert-- telling me that data is stopped?

There are a bunch of apps that stop data but I find I have to constantly go into the Setting > Wireless and Networks to see if the data has really been stopped. What I'd like is an icon or image that tells me graphically that data is gone.

Frankly, I wouldn't care if I never again used mobile data -- I'm happy enough with wifi -- but I don't want to turn it off permanently.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Don

Hello, I don't have your device but it should be fairly easy to turn off mobile data when you are not using it via a widget or toggle within your settings.

APNdroid

it is green when on, red when off

just don't uninstall it when it is red!

If data is turned on, there are little arrows beside the signal bars, and the letters H, G, E or whatever. If data is turned off, there are no arrows or letters.

You could also put it in airplane mode, but you won't get calls or texts, but it would be good for when you are sleeping.

Did you mean to say "don't uninstall it when it's green" instead of "red"??

Don't install when the widget is red! This app changes your APN names with some text on the end of them. So if you uninstall when it's red you're stuck with them & your internet won't work.... unless you manage to re-enter them manually! It says all this on google play store anyway.

Some custom roms like cyanogenmod have power widgets that you can customize yourself, which include data toggles.
