Wanted: Graphic Artist

DrBix

Lurker
I've been working on a new Android application over the last few months and feel that I'm getting close to being able to start having it tested. However, all of the images I'm using are, for all intents and purposes, placeholders. I'm at a point where I really need to find a graphic artist and, possibly, some testers. I'm not talking about a "lot" of artwork, but it really depends on how creative we'd like to get. It's "mostly" a few title screens and a bunch of icons, possibly with animation on the icons. If you're interested, please PM me what your rate is, perhaps with a few samples of your work. I'm open to a flat hourly rate or possibly profit-sharing (assuming there "IS" a profit ;) ). I've contacted several artists on the web and many are just too busy to help, haven't responded, or the email links to them are dead.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot! You have no idea how hard it has been to find an artist, let alone a decent one. At this point, I'd take a 12 year old with a talented crayon :P. That's how bad my artistic ability is!

@ DrBix: Tell us how it goes and what app you're developing. If it's something I'm into, I don't mind being an alpha (beta?) tester :)

Matchmaking on the Android Forums, lol.
lol, that just put a smile on my face.

Without giving too much away, it's a turn based multi-player strategy game :). I won't say anymore than that. I recently posted some of the source code I wrote for a 2D scrolling tile-based map on Android Development if you want to see some of my source. Though, I did have to actually remove most the true game oriented logic to keep the idea somewhat secret for now. If I were a guessing person, I'd say I've already written about 10,000 lines of code and probably 90% of that is the server side. I built the server component on top of Google Protobuf so I should be able to port it to the iPhone eventually. It's been a very trying few months as most of the development has been between the hours of 9PM and 2AM (except on weekends).

I'm hoping to beta test it by the end if the year (conservatively). I'd hope sooner but with the holidays coming, I really don't think I'll have as many hours to commit to it that I should :(.
