Root wanting to root new droid x

Hi, I am a noob, and very illiterate at this rooting, flashing thing. I am wanting to set my wife up on page plus with a droid x I just bought new. It hasnt been activated yet, and was wondering if any of you guys that have this knowledge would mind helping me through this process. I have read many different threads, and there are so many different ways, and downloads, and like I said, it kind of blows my mind. I am just wanting to get the best I can out of this phone. Thanks guys, Steve If youd like send me an Im and I would be greatly appreciated.
