warning! One x screen not scratch proof :(

hi all

had one x for 2 weeks now after having a desire for 2 years.

the desire screen proved to be great and i never managed to scratch it!

2 weeks with the gorilla glass one x and guess what? a scratch!

i now have a 1 inch hairline scratch that can only be seen with the screen off but has left me gutted

the only thing i can think it maybe is that i use a golf scoring app and maybe i unlocked the screen with a grain of sand on my finger.

that said the desire remained perfect with the exact same usage.

so take notice everyone with your pride and joy.

Personally, I don't think any screen is un scratchable...

I feel ya though, it sucks to get scratches on any part of our pride and joys...

Get a Zagg invisible shield on there ASAP.

They scratch really easily, but they are the kind of scratches you can only see very close up and when the screen is off. You probably won't notice it otherwise.

Gorilla glass does not mean Gorilla proof.

That's why I am eagerly awaiting a screen protector in the mail. Til then I am being extra cautious with my phone. Sorry to hear about your scratch, I'd be gutted too.

I have had this phone since launch day here in the UK & love it.

However in the 3rd week it developed a scratch which doesn't seem removeable (I hadn't been sent the screen protectors by then, which I'd ordered).

It is a backwards "L" shape hairline scratch near top of my screen (where the top of the default clock widget sits - at the top middle of the 3rd digit). It is transparent, but I know it's there!

Been into Carephone Warehouse (which I have insurance with Geek Squad), They said it's not worth worrying about unless I pay the

Noticed the other day I have a very small ( thankfully) scratch. Never dropped it yet, never put it in a pocket with anything else. It's a bit of a joke how easily this screen scratched as my old hero had a few grazes but nothing like this after 2 years of near abuse. Hard to see, but you can feel it. Oh well screen protector ordered to cover up the lovely screen it has.

Gorilla glass is very susceptible to sand and other small particles.


I agree with everyone else whose said you should have out a screen protector on it, regaurdless of what the manufacturer said

Good skins can be purchased at best skins ever for cheap. Very durable and clear. Use them if u want your device to stay looking good.
