Help Warning to momentflash users

Just wanted to give everyone a warning. I was using momentflash tonight, for less than five minutes. Everything was going great until my flash blinked a couple of times, and then shut off. It will not come back on... apparently you can ruin your flash using this app.

Are you sure it isn't a software bug? Did you restart and try to use the flash within the camera as a test?

There is a disclaimer about damage on the install page. That being said, 5 min on the regular setting shouldn't do any damage unless there was already something wrong with the flash. In bright mode, 5 min is probably too long. Follow ramiss directions, if that doesn't work do a reset and see if that fixes things. If not, it's time to call Sprint or visit a repair center. Good luck!

This happened to mine after my brother had it on super bright for at least 15-20 minutes by mistake. It's toast bro, just flash back to CL14 and head to a sprint repair center. They'll give you a refurbished Moment, no worries.

Yep... I have powered off and all that. Even tried going into camera, nothing works.

Then the flash on my phone is a warrior because I have used it several times at night while working on my car and the same thing happens to me, I assume because it gets too hot, so I just give it like 5 minutes to cool off and its good to go for another 20 miutes :-)

I'd never heard of this app before, but my first reaction is that I would never want to use it. Camera flashes are not designed to be operated for more than a split second. Moreover, for somebody who does not understand that... it says it right here in the description:

MomentFlash Donate v2.0 Application for Android | Tools

Well, to add to your statement, however, it should be safe enough to use on the lower setting because that's what your video recorder uses, too. So it's not fair to say it's not supposed to be used for more than a split second unless you're talking about the ultra-bright setting.

Momentflash is a great app and I wouldn't want to be without it. That said, I never run it for more than 10 seconds or so at a time. If I'm going to need light longer than that I go get my maglight. I only see benefit to using the flash for light for short periods of time.

It's all in how you use it.

Well... no worries... I have gotten my replacement phone. I will say that Sprint get replacement phones out very quickly (ordered on Saturday, arrived today at 11 am). Curiously, the replacement phone came with a 1500 Mah battery instead of the 1440

Fair enough, I stand corrected. I've never actually used the video on the phone.

Would you mind divulging the part number/model number of the battery that came with yours? i'd like to find the right one to supplement my stock 1440.

Thanks.

Sure... no problem.... but you won't like the answer:)

The model/part # of the new 1500 mAh battery is :AB653850CA.

The strange thing is that the model/part # on the old 1440 battery is exactly the same.

Not entirely sure what this means. The only thing that I can think of is Samsung changed the stock battery to 1500mAh, and just left it the same model #
