Was there any rumor that was wrong??

I always read the rumors and am a little surprised when the official announcement comes out.... but I think this time around the rumors were spot on!! Even down to sale date!! Was there any surprise for you??

Wait until you get it to decide. And you seem to be someone who is not a "power-user" where you want/need things like removable battery, extra storage of the micro SD slot, etc. Samsung has shamelessly copied cRapple with this phone, and is also FORCING the buyer into having to use cloud storage OR just not be able to use the phone the way I do. The very limited internal storage options, lack of swap on the go battery, breakable rear glass and blatant attempt to force users to have to use cloud storage are all beyond disappointing. Those things don't seem to matter to you, and consumers like yourself may be OK with the N5 as it is, although it is also almost a 3rd more expensive than the N4 so that must be considered. All in all, the N5 is a shameless copy cat attempt by Samsung that has gimped what made the Note line so great. I hope you like it but it just doesn't fit my needs or the needs of many other Note phone users.

I don't really need the sd card... looked at mine and I hardly used it... I use free online storage for my pics... so that isn't really an issue... and like I say its not about whats the best phone its about what phone is best for you and right now this phone seems like it will be best for me and my needs

Yes, like I said you are type of user who didn't really need the Note line advantages. I use my SD card - my 128GB card is 80% full. I own several businesses and NEED the extra storage for many, many things important to my businesses. And I cannot always have cell service where I live, so cloud storage is not a viable option. I also need to have the option to hot swap out my battery if need be. I rarely have to, but sometimes I do. So for you, yes, the N5 will probably be fine. For me there is no way it will work for my uses.

I see where that would be an issue for you... I am retired and would have loved a smart phone when I was still working... I can see where the limitations would suck for you!! Maybe they will learn and improve with the next model... if thats not too late!!

I think they should have kept the Note 5 an actual Note phone. They already were making the S6 plus for those who wanted a bigger S6. Which is basically what you got in the Note 5 - a bigger S6. The only difference being the SPen, which like I said I don't use. Bottom line, Samsung is not catering to many consumers who have chosen the Note line in the past for the features it has (up until now) always offered. They took away almost ALL of the most important things that made it better than the competition. They honestly tried to copy the crappy iPhone, which is a huge mistake. cRapple has about 20% of the world smartphone martketshare, android 80%. Don't try to copy them, people like android for the reasons that is ISN'T an iCrap device. There is really almost no reason to say the Note 5 is different/better than the iPhone now. No removable battery, no SD slot. At least apple offers 128gb option - nope, not even THAT on the Note 5. It is just a total losing combination they have thrown together for this Note 5.

All that being said, it sounds like it has everything that YOU want Mdrae99 - and I hope you are happy with it. I do believe it is a very good device, but just one that has lost too many important things that many of us want. For you it sounds like it will be great however.

I agree with you 100% the Note should have remained the Note... it is just a S-pen away from the S6!!! I definitely feel its a move in the wrong direction! Its took away all the reasons I went from the HTC and went to the note!! I really don't like apple and thats the was they are heading!! It just seems like it will be an update from my note 3 ...and I leased this time in hopes that they will come back from the dark side and I can get the next one!! I hope its great for now... but still looking for the next one!

Sounds like we are on the same page Mdraej99. And of course you will have to let us know how you like your N5 when you do get it. I expect it is an excellent phone - that is not my concern. It is likely the best phone available and will be a juggernaut except for the lack of SD and removable battery. If Samsung offered a 128gb version and if the N5 was rootable I would still most likely get it. Two big if's that could yet become reality, but as of now are not.
