There's no way to eliminate or otherwise control any of this without root. Even with root, some things need to be left alone. For example, I installed DroidWall on my son's rooted X2 and had frozen Backup Assistant Client using Titanium Backup. Even so, backup assistant was using a small amount of data and it annoyed me. But when I went to block it, DroidWall had Backup Assistant lumped in with many other things - things I didn't necessarily want to disable - so I still felt limited in my control.
Without root though, you're pretty much stuck.
