Watch ESPN App and HDMI out

Hey all, I know that I can't watch NFL games with NFL mobile and HDMI out from my phone, but does the Watch ESPN app work with HDMI out? I don't have ESPN in my tv package, and a buddy who does set up his account info on my phone so I can use the app.

I'm guessing since you have to be an ESPN channel subscriber to use the app in the first place they would allow it to be viewed via HDMI (since you can just watch the channel on your TV without the phone)... can anyone confirm? Trying to find out if I need to go out to watch the Jets and Dolphins tonight :)
 
Haven't tried. I'm sure you can, they let you view their programming from the Web at espn3.com so I don't know why you couldn't view it through the app. I do think they put a restriction on their NFL games though, something about their NFL contact

Yes you can watch NFL MOBILE using HDMI (mirroring to TV) using the FREE android market app "Xternal" (just follow my instructions at thread): http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-bionic/426259-nfl-mobile-hdmi-out.html

It also worked on HBO GO with "Xternal" and following my instructions. I'd be willing to bet it works on ESPN too!

I just started the NFL Mobile app. The video stream currently says:

"Monday Night Football - This game will begin shortly"

Just thought I would share.

EDIT (8:32pm): Now, Monday Night Football just started playing on my NFL Mobile app
