Watching Live TV

[davecabezo]

Hi,

I've just bought a Justop Droibox Ace TV box to try to enable me to watch Live BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc English TV here in Spain. I would also like to be able to watch TV Catchup. I tried to watch these channels directly on my PC with varying success. TV Catchup especially would not let me watch, even with a VPN, saying that I was geographically not entitled.

I'm new to Android so it's a very steep learning curve but I've managed to download and install XBMC and was wondering what Apps, if any would enable me to watch the English channels.

Regards,

Dave

Since the problem seems to be your location, not your phone or any apps on it, a VPN based in the UK.

Sure the VPN is going into the UK and that you definitely have a UK IP address? Many VPN apps on Android have the US as default. What VPN are you using? You can confirm your IP address country by going to a site like mybrowserinfo.com or speedtest.net.

Dave, see first comment about confirming that you have a UK IP address. Given that you're getting messages stating "geographically not entitled.".

I have no idea how long you'll be there for OP, but I'm fairly sure that a Slingbox will fix your problem. Bear in mind that you'll need to purchase their hardware and I believe you have to set that up at "home" (or someone else's home, so long as they are local to head you want), but it then simulcasts whatever television is available at home to you over the net.
