Watching videos with subtitle on Galaxy

Hi everyone,
I'm considering getting me one of the sexy Galaxies, but have been wondering if it is possible to play videos (of any type and quality) with soft subtitle, such as .srt, .txt, .sub, or any other subtitle that is not hard-coded on the video. Or can closed captioned m4v or mkv videos be played with soft subtitle on Galaxy? That would be great if anyone knows how to do so or those already doing so can share us the how-to.
Thank you much, guys.. :)

Haven't been able to do this either. In fact, some of the avi files that I converted using KIES lost their subtitles. Bloody annoying.

Ow no... I was actually very hopeful it can be done without hardcoding, especially if you can alternate between different languanges, that would be so great (sigh)..
Maybe any Android app can do that??

meridian has an option for that , but says only for the pro version
not sure if it works or not though

FYI on the 2.2.1 JPU update subtitles work in the inbuilt player - just watched a little of a 720P MKV with subtitles on JPU. Sweet. My bloody PS3 can't even play those!

Noticed after copying the file across that the media scanner is much faster to scan my 32GB card on this firmware. Nice.

EDIT: Even better than I thought - in settings there are now subtitle options - you can choose text size and colour and even change how they are sync'd - so if there are sync issues you can fix them from within the app! Brilliant.
