I downloaded a few wav files and placed them in the Ringtones folder then rebooted my phone (Droid Bionic running stock 4.04).
Going into the settings after the reboot, I was able to see the files when I went to Sound Settings --> Phone Ringtone, however when I select any of them they play with extreme distortion/noise. I tried re-transferring the files a few times in case something had gone wrong during the file move with no luck. Playing the files on my PC works fine, just not on the phone.
Anyone else encounter this issue? Can modern Android really not play a simple wav file?
