we can't open this file

we have captured photos. that photos images were in jpeg format but we are unable to open, it is displaying as "we can't open this file".
after capturing the image we have viewed once that image but later its displaying as " we can't open this file".
we tried to forward those images through whatsapp to another user, in this sequence something happened.

can anybody guide us.

So are the original images corrupt, or just the copies forwarded via WhatsApp?

OK so basically it sounds like when you take a picture with your phone, you can view it right after taking it, but when you want to view it again later it will not open.

Are you using the 'Gallery' app to try to view your photos? I'm assuming on your Moto G the default app to open photos (.jpg) is the Gallery app. If you were using a different app when trying to view those photos that app might simply be a matter of not having the photo viewing functionality. In that case try using the Gallery app.
But if it is a matter where you have been using the Gallery app, it is really strange for that kind of error message you're seeing. Try going in the Application manager in your phone's Settings menu. Find the Gallery app in the listing, tap on it to open it, and tap on the 'Force stop' button in the upper left, then tap on the 'Clear data' button in the middle left. (Using 'Clear data' this deletes both the app's settings/configurations and its cache.) Now go back and try to open up those photos using the Gallery app to see if this works out now.
