Help weak wifi signal

Hi all,

I noticed that my device comparing to other device get low wifi signal.
Why my friends devices (smasun, hts wildfire) "see" wifi network, mine doesn't.

Has anyone had the same proble?

You might be refering to the 'wifi death grip'. Holding or covering the top part of the phone will reduce the wifi signal to nothing. Check how you're holding the phone when you see a connectivity problem.

Other than that issue, the wifi signal on my phone is very good and will pick up the same routers that my computer wifi detects, although the strength may vary.

I think the desire s wi-fi is weaker. My wife's got the old desire and she has far less drop-outs in the same room at the same time.
I think its a "known" fault & connected to the gingerbread operating system....apparently!

in htc desire S, apparently the wifi signal is low comparing with other devices in the same places... htc should find the solution for the same...

It is also worth checking the "advanced" menu under wifi settings to ensure that the "Best Wifi performance" box is ticked.

I have the same problem..my wifi signal is weaker than other phones, even the HTC Wildfire S...both with "Best Wifi performance" disable...and I am not holding the phone in any particular way....

I will be upgrading to the Andromadus ROM soon. will it solve the weak WiFi signal problem? currently I am on GB stock rooted. Can you suggest me something to fix the WiFi problem.
