Help Weak wifi signal

My sons Tab 3 has a weak signal no matter where we are connected. Even right here at home my phone shows 3 out of 4 bars on the wifi icon yet the Tab shows 1 bar. Any ideas?

Use dlink or Cisco router of 3.5 Ghz it will be useful and see whether u r internet speed is more because if speed plan is low then receiver will also give slow speed As also I have tab 3 it too has problems but gives a better range and speed to browse
