Weather app battery consumption

Downloaded WeatherBug app and check battery consumption, it showed 16%
Unistalled it, checked again, still 16%
Is the battery consumption coming from the pre-loaded app (WeatherChannel) ? TIA

Probably not. I use Weatherbug Elite and have it set for manual update. Its a really great app, but its a battery hog. Also, turn off follow me as well. Only downside to this is that you won't get weather alerts until your refresh it.

I forgot to mention that I have it to end when my screen goes to sleep. I use the stock Task Manager on my Atrix 4G.

Dummy newbie me. That 16% is for battery usage for the time I was on WB, not for the app just being downloaded on my phone (right?)

If it accounted for 16% of the battery use, then uninstalling it won't undo that use. It used it, and you can't get it back. Checking again tomorrow should show different numbers.

You're looking at battery usage wrong.

If battery usage says 16%, it means it used up that much of all the battery you used up. For example, if say you have a battery level of 90%, then checking on battery usage says Weatherbug use 16%, it means it used up 16% of the missing 10%. Basically, it used up 1.6% of your battery.

This is also the reason why the readings did not change after you uninstalled the app. The readings are not based on what's using up your battery right now, it shows you what apps used how much of the battery since the time it was last charged.
