I purchased accuweather Platinum and the maps update very slow if at all. Their tech support said that my phone can't handle the data and doesn't have the energy to run the maps...??? I am on wifi and using a droid moto x force. This phone should run ANY app I put on it , any suggestions or app suggestions? I prefer a weather app that sounds the weather alert for any alert.

II bought Weather Bug Elite before it was discontinued. I use it all the time (because it is ad free). I tried others and keep coming back to it.

Maybe if Accuweather would get rid of all those stupid weather report videos you see on the evening news and put on all the static maps like they should, it would be faster. Only the rain map should be interactive.

BTW, I've heard it works faster if you turn on all the location services. I don't, but if I want a faster radar, there's always NOAA.
 
I also like WeatherBug. I like that its widget is relatively minimal but when needed the app itself has lots of features.
 
I've been using BeWeather (Pro) for years. Very accurate, alerts, doppler, radar, great widgets, etc. Free version was decent as well as I recall
 
I just put a link up to the NA weather fronts and jetstream and ignore the rest of the chaff. Chaff gives you hay fever.

MyRadar is the single most important WxApp there is

WeatherChannel widget is at the top of my homepage, but I only use that for drilling down into the details
