Weather Radars

Hello all! This is my first post and I am....was....still kinda a die hard Web OS fan. With there announcement of them dropping the Touchpad I am looking at this tablet for my hobbies.

I am getting a tablet to replace my laptop in my car when I am storm chasing. I can be on the road for hours chasing and need a tablet that can/has:
1. Has great weather apps
2. The more battery life the better

So what are the opinions for using this tablet in this way or can someone steer me in the right direction.

I am new to android so dont judge me! :D

As far as apps, you're basically equal on any Honeycomb tab. I quite like the Accuweather tablet app. I'm not sure there's a bunch if variation on battery life either, but my only experience is with the Xoom and tab 10.1 (which I both get about 6 1/2 hours-ish of actual use).

One thing, if you use the tab in your car, for the Xoom, you have to buy a specific car charger. The Tab, you can take the wall charger usb portion and plug it into one of these, which IMO is much more convenient.

Frankly, if you are storm-chasing, you probably do not want to carry a tablet because chances are you will get rained on. Your tablet is not going to last very long.

Now, I have read somewhere that someone (I cannot remember the vendor name) is going to produce a heavy duty, water proofed tablet. Not until then, you should buy the Panasonic Toughbook instead.

Besides, most consumer version of weather app for smart phones and tablets have delay update. It is not going to work if you are in the area where the storm is hitting. You need the professional grade software, not the consumer grade software.
