Weather randomly showing up center screen

Not sure how this is happening and trying to figure out what I was doing to get this to happen.

When I first got my phone and tapped the Center of the screen, a small weather icon would appear that said the current city and current temp for a few seconds.

How do I get this to occur again? (stopped happening)

Are there other types of these 'gestures'?

Sounds like the feature of the "Forest" live wallpaper.

You are correct. When you have the Forest live wallpaper selected, the current weather will display center screen when you tap the screen once.
