Weather Widget question and a problem.

Hello all. Does anybody know how to add a city or town to the weather widget that came pre-installed on my HTC Desire? It has a certain amount of cities and towns, and some surprising choices, smaller towns etc, but for all my poking about w/all the pref's and settings I cannot for the life of me see any option for setting/adding a new location that isn't a preinstalled/recognised location. Also, for some reason I cannot alter which city weather is shown on my homescreen w/the clock. Any help or ideas would be gratefully received, as for such a small thing it's driving me mad. J.

Moved this thread to the HTC Desire forums where it will be seen by more folks with your phone, hopefully this will result in more replies.

You can't, I'm afraid. You are stuck with whatever locations are recognised by the provider of the weather data. Not sure who it is for the clock / weather HTC widget, but think it may be The Weather Channel.

As to adding a location to the widget, I thought you just long-pressed on the widget to access the settings.

Yes you can! On the home screen press the city location currently displayed in the weather widget, the localised one (bottom left of the widget). The app will launch the full-size weather widget, which will display current weather status for your current location. At the bottom right is a large '+' sign. Press this and and a search bar will appear with your keyboard. Begin entering the city/localisation name and your preferred place name will appear. Click on it and now you have added a favorite place. If you want to delete the preconfigured places simply press the menu button in the widget, click delete and a window will pop-up with the current locations including 'x'-boxes next to them. Simply click the ones you wish to delete followed by the delete button. Done!
