Help Weather widget

Hey I just got a One X and it seems the weather widget + clock it comes preloaded with won't update my location, I have it set to sync and all gps options are enabled. The weather also won't update on home screen unless I open it up.

Is anyone else having this problem or know how to resolve it? It sux cuz the HTC weather widget is my favorite and for some reason doesn't work correctly

i wont be the 1st to say with a few curses cos you are one of the 1st to have a One X! lol (p.s. willing to share further thoughts on the device? )

righty, where are you based at the moment? and are you getting data through ok via wifi or the data carrier? what have you got set under (i presume in ICS) settings - location?

I second the sentiments regarding the fact that you've already got a One X (mine should arrive on Saturday so not long now).

On my Desire HD I have also been unable to update the weather widget without actually opening it (even though I have the update schedule set to 1 hour). Also, from time to time, I have occasions where the widget has trouble finding my current location (usually showing my location as United Kingdom). I believe that this is a problem with the server rather than the phone (although I may be wrong).

I can only suggest that you trying removing the widget from your homescreen and then add it again manually. Perhaps going through the widget setup from scratch will solve your problem.

Sorry I complely forgot most people won't have the phone yet lol my bad. I have everything what seems to be normal data and everything looks normal and under location everything is ticked except GPS sattelite but even when its ticked nothing changes

I've tried removing it and re adding it but still nothing. I've seen a few people with simular problems with the widget on other devices but they go back a few years ago, surely they should of fixed it by now if it is something on there end.

Also I'm located in Australia. The phone is amazing everything looks great! Battery is pretty good not sure why people are saying its bad cuz it lasts longer then my sgs 2. Although I have experienced a few 'hiccups' with the phone.. twice now it has rebooted by itself just from going to the homescreen from internet, it also gets pretty hot right now as I'm writing this it has heated up quite abit.

Congratulations on being the first One here.

Worrysome about the heating - keep an eye on that, you may have gotten one that's a bit not OK. Sure hope not!

The HTC weather widget problem seems to crop up at every release. If you get the chance, maybe take it to a nearby town and back, might help to give it a location nudge.

This is a bit worrying and to be honest it was one of the things I was looking out for. Over recent months I've been having the same problem with my Desire (I live very close to a major airport in the south-east of England, but still my phone seems to come up with United Kingdom regularly) and I'm looking to upgrade in the next couple of months. So I was keen to see if HTC had fixed this issue...clearly they haven't.

On my Desire the fix I found (which worked until recently) was to switch off GPS and WiFi, so all you have is standard data running. Then open the weather app and update it. It might take a few goes but it should bring up your local town eventually. Except that that seems to have stopped working for me. Earlier this week I was stuck on UK for about 2 days, even when I moved to another town where I work.

I know it's a relatively small issue in the overall scheme of things, but I do find this annoying and judging from the general spread of this problem it must be an error at the HTC end. Come on HTC, pull your socks up!

Sorry I should update this, for some reason it works now.. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden it started working like normally

I've found that some times it says that the current weather is unavailable but if just refresh it, it will work.
