Weatherbug Widget issue

I put the Weatherbug widget on my homescreen. It asked for a city, and the one I chose is the one it uses. The city list shows current location as an option, so finding current location works fine. But I can't get the widget to show current location. Is that an option? Kind of silly to see one city on it despite changing locations.

How is your GPS set up? I use both Weather Underground and Accuweather and neither has the address right. I'm using straight GPS. If my astronomy programs can find exact location by GPS only, then the weather ones should, too.

WeatherUnderground uses local weather stations, not your address. You pick the closest station to you, but you will just see your town rather than the station. You should see a list of addresses close to you and can pick the closest.

I had Weatherbug years ago, and I do seem to remember some stations reporting. You got the weather from that station. They were just switching to the system. There should be a list of reporting stations somewhere in a menu

My phone had the Accuweather widget at first and it always showed current location weather. I find it used places maybe not exact, but close enough. But WeatherBug seems odd in that I get any location I am at as a new city selection, but the widget never changes. I just found WeatherBug seemed more accurate so I wanted it on my home screen. But don't like not being able to just look at it and getting local weather when traveling.

I use Weather Bug Elite and do not use the Widgets ... I access it full screen. It is the best weather app I have found. Too bad they don't continue to improve Elite and are forcing the ads on everyone.l

I think there may be a refresh delay in the widgets that is causing at least part of the problem.

The widget might just be programmed for the general forecast. To get the true forecast, you might have to open the program.
The widget should show an alert if you have one, though.

I tend to use the weather maps rather than a widget. I want to know where the jet stream and the fronts are so I have a link to Accuweather's web page containing those. My local weather station is a half a block away.

If I choose a reporting station in WU, the app and a widget I assume would just show the city.

I still have the old WB Elite on a tablet. I upgraded on the phone, didn't like it, and left the tablet alone. No app allowed to auto update. It's still working. Tablet wifi only, so I can control.

They leave elite alone. It is only for people who already paid. There are no updates.

I have the new non-elite also. From what I can see I am not missing anything in elite by not having updates ... except the dumb ads.
