Weatherbug widget refreshing

So I have WB elite. With the widget, when you press the little gear to access the refresh option it does not refresh. I travel bout 30 miles to work and back. With the older version, I could refresh the widget by doing this and if was all good.

There is also a need to have an add-on installed to allow for the follow me, but this add-on I cannot find anywhere. Its called "weatherbug locator app" but its not in the market. I don't remember needing this feature in the past versions.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I use this weather app too. To update, as far as I know, you need to not press the gear but the widget itself. This will open the app and refresh it. (I've been using Weatherbug Elite for a few years and never saw a refresh button on the widget.) If you use the radar widget, it has a refresh, backwards arrow, in the upper right hand corner of the widget. If you want it to follow you, you need to enable the "Follow Me" button.

One last thing, using the follow me, will drain the battery faster. When you open the widget, it will place your location without having to turn on GPS or the follow me.
 
Yes I do know about opening the app to get the refresh, however, on the widget you can do it with the gear and then hitting refresh. Doing this will update the widget without having to go in the app itself, this is the purpose of that function. But I'm not understanding why it won't work.
 
Oh cool. I didn't know that it showed up on the other end. I thought it was just for display on my phone. Its a font from mik3.11 rom
 
Don't know if it shows up on someone's phone if you text them (doubt it), but it does appear in the screenshot. :)
 
I have WB Elite also. When I press the little gear on the widget, it brings up a new page; at the bottom of that page is a refresh button.

Exactly, and when I hit that button the widget comes back to that same location just updated. It doesn't put me where I am. I don't know if it's an issue with my rom or what.

I did see that function, but not sure why you would want to press that little gear instead of just pressing the widget to open the app to update. This way it will update where you are currently. You should try it.

That's what that gear is supposed to do, update to the current location. If it didn't then what's the purpose of the widget?
