Help Web browser problems

Hi, I am desperate for some help with my Xperia Play. Up until recently I was able to choose which browser opened up any links I clicked, say in an email, Opera or the built in browser. That option does not show any more and I have no idea why or how to get it back. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am not very tech savvy, so please be gentle with me MTIA

Settings> apps> app management (or choose the browser that has been set as the default and select clear defaults)

Omg, as simple as that I've been Googling for days trying to sort it out, I feel so silly Thank you so much for your help.
