Web browsing speed?

Can anyone guess-timate the web browsing speed compared to my Rezound which I think has a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcom Snapdragon?

IIRC, the S3 processor is using newer technology which may actually make the CPU faster even though it's "only" 1.4ghz?

It seems like my web page rendering is about the same using 4G as 3G. I know you're only as fast as your weakest link, so that may have already been reached and the new phone may not even matter?

So, as my original questions asks, Can anyone guess-timate the web browsing speed compared to my Rezound which I think has a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcom Snapdragon.? And as for web pages, as opposed to downloads, is 4G going to render the page quicker than 3G?

Rendering uses gpu not really CPU. Your question makes no sense.

Your rezound tech specs would not have hindered loading and rendering so the s3 will not be any faster. The only thing that matters is network connectivity. Try speedtest.net. if your speed is slow, speak to your carrier. I have no idea what you're asking in thus thread

Sorry, don't know much and I guess I was just throwing out terms here. :o Now ask me about ionizing radiation, radiography kVp & mAs and I can put together some rational thoughts

Okay, I'll make it simple. Does the S3 have anything going for it that would make web pages download faster than my Rezound?

depends on the page. A standard web page, no. A mobile web page, no.

Some fancy website covered in Flashturbation, probably.

You might want to consider changing browsers. Just keep in mind that most browsers actually use the stock browser engine and simply wrap it in a new skin.

I use Opera Mobile because it brings its own engine. I think Chrome does, too, but I'm not sure.
